Josh and Mary -Spokane Backyard Wedding

If I had to pick just one word to describe Josh and Mary’s wedding, the word would be “family.”  Josh and Mary were married in her parents backyard under a wedding arbor made by her father from wood found on their land. Everything about the day was a reflection of their love for family,  friends and each other.  The flowers for the day were gathered from her mother’s garden.  Mary wore a bunny ring that Josh’s daughter had given her when they first started dating, and she also wore a veil made by her grandmother.   The guest book was a thumbprint tree, to capture their wedding “family.”  For their first dance, Mary’s four siblings sang to the couple.  Also, a huge part of the day was recognizing that this is now a family of 3…Josh, his daughter and Mary.  To symbolize this union, the three planted a tree together.  And, when talking about their family, you cannot forget to mention their sweet dog, Body.  He was present throughout the day with his warm and friendly disposition.

If I had to pick a second word, it would be “simplicity!” The couple wore comfy shoes, guests feasted on the best BBQ I’ve had since leaving TN (and also made from scratch corn dogs!), and instead of cake, peach cobbler was served.  Kids loved the Vanilla Cream sodas in glass bottles and hanging out in the hammock.  I hope you will enjoy being a witness to the day by viewing this gallery of images.  We certainly felt honored to be there for the day!  Please feel free to leave a comment…we’d love to hear from you.
